A Gentle Touch was Enough – Try it Now!

It was a gentle touch that nobody noticed except the Lord but it was a touch backed by a powerful desire and strong faith. It was one last struggle for help – a search for healing. I am writing about the woman who touched Jesus; who was only described by her illness. (The woman with the issue of blood.) – Do you know her name?

Jesus realized at once that healing power had gone out from him, so he turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my robe?” His disciples said to him, “Look at this crowd pressing around you. How can you ask, ‘Who touched me?’” But he kept on looking around to see who had done it.  Then the frightened woman, trembling at the realization of what had happened to her, came and fell to her knees in front of him and told him what she had done.  And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over.”

It was not just an ordinary touch. The disciples were surprised that Jesus asked such a question at a time when many people were “rubbing, pushing, and brushing at him.” One encounter with God can make a lot of difference in any person’s life. It could be a gentle touch!

Hannah had such an encounter with God; after a long time of search, strife, pity, etc. She made up her mind to give it “one last push.” She went to God with a powerful desire and strong faith. She left the crowd and the feasting all around her and went to pray alone. (I am sure Eli was surprised to see her in the temple when every other person was eating and drinking.) It was like the “the gentle touch” from the woman with issue of blood.

“As she was praying to the Lord, Eli watched her.  Seeing her lips moving but hearing no sound, he thought she had been drinking.  “Must you come here drunk?” he demanded. “Throw away your wine!” “Oh no, sir!” she replied. “I haven’t been drinking wine or anything stronger. But I am very discouraged, and I was pouring out my heart to the Lord.  Don’t think I am a wicked woman! For I have been praying out of great anguish and sorrow.” “In that case,” Eli said, “go in peace! May the God of Israel grant the request you have asked of him.” “Oh, thank you, sir!” she exclaimed. Then she went back and began to eat again, and she was no longer sad.

You can get help from God now. You may be weak, hopeless or afraid; it may be a long standing problem or one that has defied all other search for help. If you to turn it over to God, through Jesus, as never before, even “a gentle touch” or a “moving lips”, can move that mountain. Give it one more push.

Reach out to God today, in Jesus’ name and receive your miracle. Try it now.
